The body image is really underpinned by the separation of mind and matter as two utterly different realms - the "tangible" and the "intangible" - which most of us have uncritically accepted. It is this latter split which in my view lies at the bottom of all confusion about our fundamental self-nature. Then "when one comes to one's senses," in this important respect, in first instance one states "everything is 'mental'" - the first step into non-duality. But immediately such a pronouncement has been made, even that is seen to be false, because it can no longer convey any meaning. To define something as "mental" made sense only so long as there was the "physical." Thus, the moment it is seen that the physical does not really exist as such, the mental also disappears from view. What remains then is simply: "everything is." And that "everything," that Totality, can only be the Consciousness or the Self." -Robet Powell, Discovering the Realm Beyond Appearance
Well, that's all very interesting, but yesterday I realized the hidden implication behind the fact that Eckhart Tolle and Meister Eckhart both achieved nondual realization: clearly the name Eckhart has magical powers. Therfore I've decided to take a shortcut to nondual realization by renaming myself Eckhart Eckhart. This will result in me achieving nondual realization in half the time that it took both of them put together...
